In his first month, he has undertaken key tasks such as testing, troubleshooting, soldering, and wiring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) — an impressive foundation for his next big step: programming PLCs. Alex’s growth is supported by the mentorship of Leonie Coombes, whose guidance reflects Sensia’s emphasis on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment. “Everyone has been really nice and super helpful; it’s a great working environment to be in, and I am excited to learn more,” Alex shared. Alongside his work, Alex is also contributing to modern challenges with a sustainability-themed project at York College, which he will present in May. With plans for Alex to train at a site in Plymouth in January, the company is investing in real-world experiences that expand his horizons.
