The Caldon LEFM 280CiRN has been utilised for well over a decade in critical fiscal and custody transfer applications around the world. Developed to address challenges in the deployment of ultrasonic meters the 280CiRN is backed by performance data on high viscosity fluids and validated tools for prover sizing and performance evaluation. The eight-path 280CiRN CALDON LEFM ultrasonic flowmeter is designed with a reduced bore and a special nozzle-shaped entry in which the velocity profile is stabilized. Repeatability is improved to levels suitable for direct proving, making this meter ideal for replacement of turbine and positive-displacement flowmeters. The velocity-profile related problems of transitional flow at Reynolds numbers below 10,000 are overcome. High viscosity fluids are measured without compromising performance. + Reducing Nozzle Inlet configuration for optimised measurement performance - A reduction of up to 6.5 times in proving volume versus a full-bore ultrasonic meter - No Reynolds number limitation for viscosities up to 3,000 cSt per OIML R117 Class 0.3 + Requires a minimum of 5D upstream with no requirement for flow conditioning. + Available in 6" and larger + ±0.10% linearity over 15:1 nominal flow range for all sizes + OIML R 117-1 Edition 2019 (E); Accuracy Class 0.3 Discover our latest CALDON LEFM 280CiRN Application Caldon has remained at the forefront of Liquid ultrasonic metering technology, delivering optimized solutions to critical oil and gas applications for more than three decades. We were approached by our client Oldeval through our partner COMSERT for a high-capacity crude oil measurement application at Puerto Rosales in Argentina. The challenge was to provide a highly accurate liquid ultrasonic metering solution, measuring 130,000,000 m3/d, whilst being proven against a Small Volume Prover (SVP). The solution was to deploy a 16” CALDON LEFM 280CiRN and Repeatability Improvement Element (RIE) in a 2+1n configuration, proven against an FMD 200-EV, one of the largest capacity small volume provers available on the market. A stigma surrounding the provability of liquid ultrasonic meters has been generalized due to the varying performance of different ultrasonic meter configurations, however this type of request is nothing new to CALDON where our LEFM 280CiRN was specifically developed and has been proven to resolve these types of challenges over the last 15 years. We look forward to working with our partner COMSERT and in conjunction with FMD to provide our valued customer Oldeval with an optimized solution for this prestigious project.
