Intelligent Action in Kazakhstan September 2024 was a good month for our Sustainable Intelligent Action strategy. Alongside Power Technology Solutions (PTS), we headed to Almaty, Kazakhstan to exhibit together at the Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition (KIOGE). The production opportunity in the region is mind-boggling, but more on that later. With over five thousand attendees at KIOGE, many of them in decision making roles, the first job was demonstrating how effective and sustainable technologies like HCC2 and Avalon could be for operators. Over 200 delegates stopped by to see us (including a few intrigued exhibitors), to see the cutting-edge digital and process safety solutions on show. Quickly, people began to realize the immediate and lasting changes intelligent automated and digital tools could bring. Putting on a show for the future With so much to showcase and so many people interested in what we had to talk about, our team were busy. Konstantin Chaus, our Regional Business Development Manager, delivered insights into the incredible power of our Avalon platform and the sophisticated HCC2 edge control technology. Meanwhile, Fraser MacKinnon, another of our Regional Business Development Managers, presented thought-provoking displays of our process safety solutions. It wouldn’t have been possible without PTS, providing unwavering support and unique expertise. They even gave us some space on the stand to showcase our power monitoring and wellhead monitoring demonstrations. We had lots of incredible feedback, questions and conversations with those who stopped by. One thing was for sure, they saw the value in solutions that could carry their operations into the future. Output equals opportunity Now, back to the scale of opportunity in the Caspian region. Kazakhstan’s oil production is already 2.3 times that of Great Britain (655 million barrels vs. 290 million barrels in 2023), and with continued exploration and development investments from the government and its international partners, this gap is set to widen further. The Caspian region presents unparalleled opportunities for growth and innovation—it's a market no forward-thinking company can afford to overlook. The broader Central Asia region is also delivering. That’s why we prioritize investment in local teams and partners to implement Sustainable Intelligent Action for operators worldwide – in any environment.
